Task Information: Resource Tab
Resources are the people and equipment that are assigned or the
material that is used to complete a task.
Adding resources
Use the Resources tab on the Task Information dialog box to enter, review, or change resource assignments (assignment: A specific resource that is assigned to a particular task.) and assignment units (assignment units: The percentage of a work resource's time, or units, that the resource is assigned to a task.) for the selected task.
By default, your project is set up to automatically add new resources as you're making assignments. In other words, if you're working on the Resources tab of the Task Information dialog box, and you want to assign a new resource that isn't already identified in the resource pool (resource pool: A set of resources that is available for assignment to project tasks. A resource pool can be used exclusively by one project or can be shared by several projects.), you can simply type the resource name.
Resource Name:
Enter the name of a resource you want to assign to the task. Enter the name of only one resource per row. You can replace one resource assignment with another. You can also delete a resource assignment by clicking the row and then pressing
DELETE or using short cut menu.
Units Type:
The number of assignment units that you are allocating (allocation: The percentage of a resource's capacity that is designated for a specific assignment.) to the task. For example, to assign a work resource (work resource: People and equipment resources that perform work to accomplish a task. Work resources consume time [hours or days] to accomplish tasks.) to work half-time on a task, type 50%.
To assign a material resource (material resource: The supplies or other consumable items that are used to complete tasks in a project.) to a task, type the quantity of material to be used. The unit of measurement label (tons, boxes, yards, and so on) that you used to define the material resource appears in the Units field, and the default is 1.
Lag
Lag is a time difference between predecessor and successor. By default
lag equal zero. For example, activity "Start Foundation
Work" can start only 2 days after finish of activity
"Delivery of Excavation Equipment". In this case lag will be
2 day. RiskyProject Professional supports probabilistic lag. You may
enter low, base, and high values of lag, as well as a statistical
distribution (uniform or triangular).
